Measurement of surface profile of blasted steel is necessary to ensure adequate blast profile for coatings adhesion. This kit contains everything required for testing surface profile, in a plastic case. The replica tape is compressed against the blasted surface using the included burnishing tool, taking on the impression or replica of the blast profile, which is then measured using the gauge, which is specifically designed for this application. The tape provides a permanent record of surface profile, making it possible to ensure conformance to specifications for steel preparation prior to coatings application.

• The thickness of the compressed tape equals the average maximum peak-to-valley profile plus the thickness of the incompressible polyester substrate
